The Tooth

The Tooth, South face is the left skyline

The Tooth is a fun and really easy route in a great setting.  Close to the car and solid rock makes for about three easy pitches.  From pinnapple pass descend and find class 4 gully on West side of ridge.  Assend to notch and start route at wedged block on ramp.  Take the ramp right and up blocky steep moves to another wedged block on a ledge.  Work up and left, then right towards the dead tree (see picture) on ramps.  Abover here is an easy class 4 unexposed area that leads to a big ledge.  Go up a short face, then broken gullies to the base of a headwall.  This is the start of the not so obvious but still classic catwalk!  This unprotected 30ft traverse on a small ramp leads left to the ridgecrest and up to the summit.

Simply descend the route, rapping off the horn just below summit.  This route is very popular so expect delays and a fun time rappelling.  The route generally doesn't exceede 5.4, except for the catwalk which is probably 5.5.

The second pitch just below the crux of the route
