Bryant Peak - East Face

Grade:  Mixed snow/rock class 4, 45 degree ridge, class 4 to low class 5

Emily on snow lake trail, Bryant peak on the left and Chair peak on the right.

That's me checking out the route on the lower sections of the ridge.

Emily standing in front of the first two exposed roped pitches.

Leading the first class 4 pitch with optional aid off of the upcomming tree :)

And there were camp robbers a plenty on this chilly winter high point!

Bryant is a good climb with sound rock and beautiful views.  However, it is probably left to dryer conditions where it would be easier to travel up to the base of the climb, avoiding talus slopes with a foot or two of snow.  In retrospect, the Denny creek trail approach is quite a bit easier, and quicker! Maybe next time...
