Cascade Crags Dry Ice Competition

November 1st, 2003

Cascade Crags rock gym in Everett put on its 2nd annual "mixed climbing" competition Saturday which was run by the great mixed climbing master Sean Issac. There were two divisions (Advanced and Beginner) and it was a ton of fun to compete. Wayne Wallace (1st place) was the first man to complete the Advanced route and showed us all how it was done using a pooly implemted leashed-leashless tool system. Jens was cruising too, until the "ice" gave way on him:

Jens making it look easy.

Sean let me wear his 'crampon-shoes' (the ones Jens is wearing too), but I was a wimp and used leashes on my tools. The Advanced route was pretty strenuous, but I was pretty psyched when I managed to climb it cleanly.

Dave pulling past the crux buldge. Watch where you're putting those heel spurs Dave!
